Day 3 of 21 Day Fix Summer Slimdown!



Today I started my day with 5am PiyO Sweat!! Always a good day to start with sweating before your mind actually knows what you are doing to it, LOL!!!

21 Day Fix: Final summer Slimdown challenge!!



Since vacay is only two weeks away i needed a major boost in my better eating! Summer has killed my good food choices...while I do tend to grab fruits..i also love ice cream, cheeseburgers, smores, etc etc! You see what I mean? We have had parties non-stop and with the kids off of school it's anything goes! Anyway, point is that I feel soo much better when I am eating better so it was time to regroup and recharge!

Here is how i stay organized!
It really works well! And keeps me accountable!


I also like to prepare ahead of time...I purchased the baggies from target that are also color-coded!!




Now onto the workouts!
I am in week 5 of PiYo so i am continuing on with that! I will also be adding in the Fix and TurboFire workouts on my off-work days ( i cant do doubles on my ten-hour plus days)! 
But for those needing the first week of Fix workouts here it is!

Week 1
Day 1: Total Body Cardio Fix
Day 2: Upper Fix
Day 3: Lower Fix
Day 4: Pilates Fix
Day 5: Cardio Fix
Day 6: Dirty 30
Day 7: Yoga Fix

Easy Mini Pizza

Total Time: 18 min.
Prep Time: 10 min.
Cooking Time: 8 min.
Yield: 2 servings
Ingredients:
1 (6-inch) whole wheat tortilla
2 Tbsp. tomato sauce, no sugar added
2 Tbsp. chopped fresh basil
¼ cup sliced mushrooms
2 oz. broiled chicken breast, boneless, skinless, chopped
¼ cup shredded part-skim mozzarella
4 slices medium tomato
Preparation
1. Preheat the oven to 400° F.
2. Place tortilla on baking sheet. Bake for 2 to 3 minutes, or until lightly toasted.
3. Spread tortilla with tomato sauce; top with basil, mushrooms, chicken, cheese, and tomato slices.
4. Bake for an additional 4 to 5 minutes, or until cheese has melted.

Tip: For a gluten-free version use a spelt or brown rice tortilla. For a vegetarian version eliminate the chicken and use soy cheese.

PiYo week 4 DONE :)

Two weeks until Vacation!! That means bikini prep is ON!!! AND i have completed another week OF PIYO!!!I cannot believe that I am heading into the second month!!! I feel so strong doing this program! So many people have started however didn't feel that they are getting a good enough cardio burn! Well I believe this pic shows more about what exercise is truly about!
I LOVE this photo!!! This is a PiYo flip, and it tests the most of the body using strength and flexibility!!




 This week I altered the schedule though because I wanted to still incorporate in my TurboFire, I am on a Chalene high I guess:) Between these two I have really found my soulmate workouts!!
These two combos together made an amazing burn!!!


Here was my schedule for Week 4!

Mon: TurboFire FireStarter
Tues: PiYoHardcore on the Floor
Weds: TurboFire Fire Starter
Thursday: PiYo Drench
Friday: TurboFire fire 45 (WOW)
Saturday: OFF , I needed a rest day desperately
Sunday: PiYo Sweat and 21 day Fix Lower Fix, ouch!!!



I love my workouts in the morning bright and early before anyone else wakes up because this is ME time! I love when i can really connect in the moment! That way I can really free my MIND!!


This week I also concluded our first FREE 7-day clean eating challenge! What success this was for everyone involved! I am super pumped to get on board for our second round this week!!!
Here is a great recipe from the challenge:

Chicken with Quinoa, Oranges, and Walnuts

This meal is packed with healthy proteins and good fats.

   
Chicken with Quinoa, Oranges, and Walnuts   
Total Time: 10 min.
Prep Time: 10 min.
Cooking Time: None
Yield: 2 serving
Ingredients:
1 cup cooked quinoa
3 oz. shredded rotisserie chicken breast (about ½ cup)
1 oz. walnuts, coarsely chopped (about 14 halves)
1 medium orange, peeled and chopped
2 Tbsp. chopped fresh cilantro leaves
2 tsp. extra-virgin olive oil
2 tsp. red wine vinegar
¼ tsp. sea salt
1 dash ground black pepper
Preparation:
1. Place quinoa, chicken, orange, walnuts, and cilantro in serving bowl.
2. Drizzle with olive oil and vinegar; season with salt and pepper.
3. Mix well and enjoy.

Tip: Store-bought rotisserie chicken is very versatile. You can bone and skin the chicken and use the leftover meat in other recipes throughout the week. It's great in sandwiches, soups, and salads.

Fat: 16 g
Saturated Fat: 2 g
Cholesterol: 76 mg
Sodium: 324 mg
Carbohydrate: 29 g

I will continue eating the 1200-1499 calorie range, however I love my Fix containers and seem to do better with those!!!

PiYo Week 3...in the books!!!!



I DID IT!!

I have completed three weeks of PiYo and am on to week 4!! 6 weeks to GO!!
This program has given me so much strength and flexibility, it's amazing!!!

Here was my schedule for week 3:

Monday: Define Upper body and 21 Day Fix TBC (i added that extra one in )
Tues: Buns YOWZERS
Weds: I took it off, I needed it..
Thurs: Core (from Weds. schedule) and Strength Intervals

Here's my Beast from Strength Intervals!!




Friday: Rest day (quick circuit on my own of push-ups, jumping jacks and sit-ups :))
Sat: I substituted Sweat for Strong legs and used the magical slides, OMG.. I also added in TF FireStarter!
Sun: Full Body Blast and TF HIIT 25


So after a hard-core workout of course my favorite treat is always ShakeO!!!

I even ended my week with a new look!


I am also super pumped because I have also gotten my hands on TurboFire!!! This program is my soul-sister! the music is amazing and i just feel great!!

PiYo Week Two!

Piyo week two UPDATE!! 

This program is really testing me! Why? Because i am use to high cardio and weight training! This is not that...however this IS strength training and flexibity to its fullest! Every single muscle is being used in my body when I do PiYo...the longer and deeper I push the stronger I am getting! This is definitely a change for me, but a WONDERFUL, much needed change!! I LOVE it!! Here's to 8 more weeks!!! Bring it:)



Sunday, July 13..
Woohoo I made it through week two!! I loved Core and Sweat, two of my absolute favorites! I doubled up Upper and Lower and did both of those on the same day which is a great option!!
Today I added in 21 Day Fix Lower Fix for an even better burn along with scheduled Core!
Wow it did the job!




Here is my meal plan for the next week:
1200-1499 plan= 4 primary veggies, 2 secondary veggies/grains; 2 fresh fruit; 4 lean proteins; 3 healthy fats
